I’m not an iPhone user. I have an Android powered phone, so I only have about 70,000 apps to choose from compared to the 225,000 apps that iPhone users have.
But limited as I am, even I can see where the future lies. Managing your life from your mobile device is the way of the future and the future is NOW! You can do everything from managing your finances on line with apps like Mobile Banking and others. You can pay your bills right on your Smartphone with apps like My Verizon Mobile.

Google recently purchased Like.com. The Like.com homepage now has this to say:
“Like has been acquired by Google.
Since 2006, Like.com has been moving the frontiers of eCommerce forward one step at a time. We were the first to bring visual search to shopping, the first to build an automated cross-matching system for clothing, and more. We didn’t stop there and don’t have plans to stop now. We see joining Google as a way to supersize our vision and supercharge our passion. This is something we are truly excited about.”

When my wife and I want to take some big strides around the house by accomplishing some major home improvement tasks, we plan a party.
As the party gets closer, we find the time and money to get stuff done because we hate the idea of our friends, many of whom have never been to our house, seeing an eyesore.

Over the last few years I have been asked for my marketing glossary several times. Truth is, I don’t really have one. I do have notes with definitions here and there but have never actually put them all in one place. In fact, when I try to explain these marketing terms to someone, it seems to me that most of the time they think these terms don’t really exist! It could be due to many of them sounding very similar to each other but trust me they have very different meanings. I really felt the following keywords should be listed as they tend to be used most often and more commonly but for the full list with detailed definitions go to http://www.marketingterms.com/dictionary/

- If your sales people rely on paper or drawing diagrams for presentations, an iPad gives them a way to perform the same task, and then email the notes to the prospect after the meeting.
- Swipe credit cards on your iPad using Square. Just a 3%-ish fee for the transaction which you would pay with any point of sale device, but no contract or monthly fee. Your sales people could complete the transaction anywhere.

I know what most are thinking right now, “A blog is not a web site.”
Yes it is. In fact, for small businesses and entrepreneurs a blog really is the most ideal format in which to have your web site. But more than that, a bog as your web site puts you in control of the most important battle in web marketing: Generating original and relevant content.

Now that we are getting over the DT’s from the high wine of easy credit, it is important to understand how we were caught wth our marketing pants down. You see, easy money makes you lazy and undisciplined. Like Paris Hilton, there is no need for responsibility when there is enough money to bail yourself out of any mess. And so it happened with the marketing budget.

Before I knew better, I was sure that many “experts” understood how SEO worked. The word was thrown around so much, that I literally started to feel that I was the only guy in the room who was left behind, stupid and left to rot in SEO hell.

I am amazed at how many people use Facebook, but for only personal purposes.
No matter where I go, coffee shops, businesses and eateries, I find people on Facebook. “National obsession” does not even begin to describe our national lust to be connected and share the silliest of posts. And those who negate this cultural phenomenon and shift will go the way of the Dodo. They are about to land hard on their Facebook.
