			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am super obsessed with a few of my Android apps and have always been a huge Logitech fan, so when I heard the recent Google TV news today I started thinking&#8230;</p>
<p>Is it bad to get your self a Christmas gift?</p>
<p>Google TV introduced their media center yesterday, the Logitech Revue, boasting both Ethernet and Wifi capabilities.  The Revue&#8217;s impressive hardware provides Google TV with the power to show off it&#8217;s strongest features.  With HDMI and USB ports, it also comes Android Market ready to access your favorite mobile applications as well as your favorite online media.  I swear, every time I go to my pops house he has a new spoof video to  show me on his HD from YouTube so I know this is going to make a great  Christmas gift for anybody.</p>
<p>At right under $300.00, the 1.2Ghz Intel Atom CE4100 processor offers lightening speed along with full Logitech TV Cam capabilities.  On top of that it offers an expandable platform while focusing on the simplicity of the Logitech Harmony Link technology.  This avoids the hassle of actually setting the media center up unless you are completely non computer savvy.  Really, all you have to do is enter your TV&#8217;s model numbers from the receiver, and the Revue&#8217;s built in IR blasters will automatically sync up the remote commands.</p>
<p>With a laundry list of functions from Android apps, viewing YouTube media as well as accessing your hard drive media, you really got to check it out and see what it has to offer your family.  Options for pre-order are already available on the <a title="Logitech Review" href="http://www.logitech.com/en-us/smartTV/revue" target="_blank">Logitech Revue</a> site, with all kinds of accessories to check out for us die hard techies.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been getting really excited over the new mobile technology that seems to be coming out faster then I can keep up with it.  Last week it was Firefox Home for the iPhone and this week it is, my personal favorite, Chrome2Phone for the Android.  Now at first glance I thought they were the same application for different phones because they both are accessed through Google&#8217;s mobile platform, the Cloud.  True as this may be&#8230; soon I discovered what sets these two applications apart.</p>
<p>Now while Mozilla&#8217;s &#8220;Home&#8221; application for the iPhone allows you to connect your web browser from your PC to your phone, allowing you to take work, your Firefox browsing history and your bookmarks with you.  Chrome2Phone actually works similarly allowing you to sync content from your PC, like videos and clips, to your mobile Android device.  Now here&#8217;s the kicker, &#8220;Voice Actions&#8221; is what makes the Android&#8217;s Chrome2Phone far superior to the iPhone&#8217;s Mozilla application.</p>
<p>Android&#8217;s &#8220;Voice Search&#8221; app is a voice-to-mobile interface  that gives you the ability to search, e-mail, text, set an alarm, take notes, look up music and locations online and even place calls and map out the locations just found&#8230; SO COOL!  Anyways, Apple did acquire Siri, so this is obviously Google&#8217;s quickest response.  While figuring out that this might be why Google created these awesome apps, I happened to find the things that Google director of product management, <a title="Hugo Barra" href="http://gigaom.com/2010/08/12/for-google-cloud-is-its-mobile-future/" target="_blank">Hugo Barra</a>, had to say about the future of mobile technology very very interesting AND super exciting!</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>These improvements by Google for Androids Voice Search &#8220;Voice Actions&#8221; lets you do so much more then just search by making your whole mobile experience hands free and so so easy.  With <a title="Dave Burke" href="http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/08/google-beefs-up-voice-search-mobile-sync/#ixzz0wRGbBu3s" target="_blank">Dave Burke</a>, Google&#8217;s engineering manager, and Google stating all the details on how the application pushes the data to your mobile device and which versions these applications are currently available for you, you can easily get all of your questions answered before you upgrade.  This is a huge advancement of just two years back when Google originally introduced voice search, which ended up being very limited comparatively.</p>
<p>Being able to simply speak that you want a map of all the local vintage shops, then the app finding them online and displaying them back to you in no time!  Or finding the next track you want to listen to just a minute later, makes this version far superior.  It&#8217;s just a matter of time before an updated version comes out for the iPhone and I can&#8217;t wait.  I love watching technology outdo itself, in my opinion, it is way better than reality TV any day!!!</p>

<p>There are many theories about your brain getting fried because of the Social networking. Or Losing your sanity because you are obsessively connected to your devices&#8230; Phones, Laptops and tablets.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s true outside the foolishness of texting while driving.</p>
<p>The social nature of modern technology is opening up channels of communication between business owners and prospective new clients and customers that have never existed before and that make it easier for the customer to find what they are looking for.</p>
<p>Yes it is the Business owner that is investing in building a social presence to help promote his company but in the end it is he consumer that makes out the best. He can now find whatever he is looking for in whatever configuration at his finger tips.</p>
<p>I believe that the more involved in Social Networking and Marketing business owners get the better it will be for consumers . I love it when I want something that I can access my smart phone ask a question and instantly get  recommendations for what I am looking for.</p>

<p>Google Alarm can both visually and audibly notify you every time you send data to Google&#8217;s servers, and it isn&#8217;t just from Youtube or Gmail.  It could be from any site that uses Google Analytics, Google AdSense, embedded Youtube videos, etc.  You&#8217;ll be suprised!</p>
<p>Although the creator did this for a serious purpose, I am posting this more out of enjoyment because I already realize how much Google knows about me and I accept that because of the wealth of products I can use in exchange.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.youtube.com/videos">YouTube</a> is missing a huge marketing opportunity with no category for <a href="http://digg.com/business_finance">Business &amp; Finance</a>.  It is hard to believe that the categories of  <em>Education</em> and <em>Travel &amp; Events</em> could be in more demand, particularly into today&#8217;s economic environ. <strong>YouTube</strong> needs to offer at least a category of <a href="http://www.inc.com">small business resources</a>. Additionally such a category would direct entrepreneurs to find opportunities to learn new and more effective ways of doing or even starting a business, as well as helping consumers to find access to products that they could purchase, that would in turn help them with their financial needs or questions.</p>
<p>On the other hand, <a href="http://www.commoncraft.com/bookmarking-plain-english">social bookmarking</a> and news site <a href="http://about.digg.com/">Digg</a> has recognized this need by providing such a category on their website.</p>
<p>I am sure that the amount of potential market that <strong>YouTube</strong> is not taking advantage of is enormous. Imagine how many businesses, banks, insurance agencies and those with money and knowledge could be put to work to build a network for opportunity and pay YouTube dearly to do so. Sounds like an opportunity to take advantage of for someone.</p>

<p>You don&#8217;t have to install anything &#8211; just go to their site and you can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Combine multiple videos into one longer video</li>
<li>You can trim the beginning or end of it.</li>
<li>Add soundtracks</li>
<li>Create new videos and publish them to YouTube without having to upload anything</li>
</ul>
<p>For example, I have a client right now that created a video where you can hear someone off camera counting down, &#8220;3,2,1&#8243; at the beginning.  With this new utility, that can easily be trimmed off without installing any software.  Wow.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Madison Avenue must be reeling at the fast changes within our media world. How could they have predicted the sheer transformation of how YouTube, social media and the worldwide dominance of the celebrity mentality would shape how we market.</p>
<p>Nike just released a new advert that say&#8217;s so much about the changes of not only how world revolves, but how we interact with each other. Moreover, this advert from Nike indicates to businesses on how the majority of marketing has yet to really caught up with those fast-paced changes. The Nike advert that they just released, featuring soccer phenom Ronaldo, is not only a strong message in itself, but a commentary of where we are at as a global community.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at the critical aspects of this advert from Nike:</p>
<ul>
<li>The advert is three minutes long, not 30 or 60 seconds. This is because YouTube has extended our ability and expectations from a video and an advert. Nike is not buying a traditional TV spot; they are telling a story and letting viral marketing run its course.</li>
<li>The video shows how addicted we are to sports, but how much it is a part of our lives and even the ability to gain power, affect markets and transform the pride of an entire nation with sports. True sports heros are national treasures and icons, just as Ancient Greece revered their gods.</li>
<li>Featuring in that video is how YouTube videos are not only watched, but how then drive new jargon, dances and even how we communicate, establish reality and that we understand each other, knowing we belong to the same &#8220;tribe.&#8221;</li>
<li>The new slogan, &#8220;Write Your Future&#8221; captures the desire to determine our future in these uncertain times. Just like Nike captured a generation with &#8220;Just Do It&#8221;, they have now found three new words to embed the minds of a new generation looking for empowerment, even if vicariously through a brand and a hallowed sports figure. It offers hope and that one can do something about it without looking for government entitlement.</li>
</ul>
<p>Nike has struck marketing gold once again, showing that like any art form one can capture and articulate a new feeling through a strong brand and simple message.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You just have to love how mainstream media is now utilizing online buzz to generate their own stories. Moreover, Ellen Degeneres recently demonstrated to all of us a powerful way to spin that buzz, even becoming a part of that craze.</p>
<p>It was just a matter of time before someone called Greyson Chance, a veritable overnight success on YouTube, due to his amazing cover of &#8220;Paparazzi&#8221; by international phenom, Lady Gaga. That really isn&#8217;t the story of this blog. While the young performer was <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoqET-3a4lA&amp;feature=popt00us07">featured on Ellen&#8217;s show</a>, and even getting to speak via phone to Lady Gaga herself, the real success on the spin is how Ellen featured herself in the video while Greyson Chance did a shortened version on Ellen&#8217;s show.</p>
<p>Knowing that this video would as well go viral far above anything Ellen could ever dream of, Ellen and her producers made sure that Ellen stood next to Greyson Chance during his electrifying performance. Five hundred thousand hit later, and now Ellen is empowering her brand and relevance to the social media crowd.</p>
<p><b>Lesson:</b> News is happening all around you in your industry, town and other circles of influence. With some creativity and some good taste, you could find yourself easily riding the wave of the success of another.</p>
