YouTube Increases Videos’ Running Time Limit

YouTube has just announced they increased the running time limit for videos posted to their site, from 10mn to 15mn.  This is a pretty major upgrade, which emphasizes the importance of videos online and underline how competitive that market has become.

While this is certainly good news for video fans, site owners and online marketers alike, the latter should however be careful when it comes to using videos effectively.  Studies indeed show that more than half the viewers leave a video after the first minute, so keeping them interested for an additional 5 minutes might not be as easy as it seems.

When I needed a video done, I did some research and tried a few companies before deciding to place my large order.  Granted, I work online and understand that good quality takes time, so I was patient.  But as I waited and waited and waited, I just gave up and did it myself – the “faster route” was just not worth the wait.
